Privacy policy

This policy explains what data Wanderlust ("the app", "the site") collects when you use wanderlust.itertour.eu on the web, or through the Wanderlust Android and iOS apps, and why. Wanderlust is operated by Iter Tour Srls ("we", "us"). Questions or requests about your data can be sent to info@itertour.eu.

Your search stays on your device

When you use the onboarding search on the home page, the name you enter, the place you type or pick, your chosen interests and dates, your search radius, and the device location you allow us to use are saved only in your browser's local storage — never in our database. There are no visitor accounts, and the site sets no cookies for visitors; the only cookie is the sign-in cookie used by staff to reach the content-management admin, which is unrelated to your use of the site.

Device location

If you press "Use my position" (or have already granted the permission), your browser or device asks the operating system for your location and sends the resulting coordinates, as part of the request, to our own /api/nearby and /api/suggestions endpoints, which use them to compute distances and return nearby experiences. We do not store those coordinates in our database. The app itself does not keep request logs for these endpoints; our hosting and CDN provider, Bunny.net, may retain standard access logs — which can include the request URL and your IP address — for a limited time under its own privacy policy. In the mobile apps, the same permission is requested by the operating system; the apps do not access any other device data.

Services called directly from your browser

Typing a place name or asking for your position also triggers requests made directly by your browser — not routed through our server — to:

• Nominatim (nominatim.openstreetmap.org) — turns coordinates into a place name.
• Photon (photon.komoot.io) — suggests places as you type.
• The OpenStreetMap tile server (tile.openstreetmap.org) — supplies the map images shown on the results and experience pages.

Each of these receives your IP address and the query you send it (coordinates, typed text, or map tile coordinates) directly, under its own privacy policy: OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy (covers Nominatim and the tile server) and Komoot's privacy policy (covers Photon). We do not send these services your name or any other identifying detail beyond what your browser sends automatically.

Fonts are bundled with the app at build time rather than loaded from Google's servers, so viewing a page never contacts a font service.

Analytics

Wanderlust uses no analytics or tracking tools, and no such data is collected.

Mobile apps

The Android and iOS apps load the same site described in this policy inside an app shell. Beyond the location permission described above, the apps do not read any other device data. The offline page and your saved search live only on your device.

Legal basis and how long we keep data

We ask for your consent, through the browser's or device's own permission prompt, before your location is ever requested; you can withdraw it at any time in your browser or device settings. Serving the site itself — including passing your coordinates to /api/nearby and /api/suggestions to compute distances — relies on our legitimate interest in providing the feature you asked for. Your search stays in local storage until you clear it or clear your browser or app data; we keep no server-side copy of it.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with any third party other than the mapping and geocoding services listed above, which your own actions trigger directly.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct or erase your data, restrict or object to its processing, request portability, and lodge a complaint with the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali or your local supervisory authority. Contact info@itertour.eu to exercise these rights.

Children

Wanderlust is not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will update the effective date above when we do; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
