A citadel of art in Milan

The Fondazione Prada is an exhibition area, designed by Rem Koolhaas, covering about 19,000 square meters in Via Isarco, on the southern outskirts of Milan, which was the site of a famous distillery in the 1910s.

Founded in 1993, it is now run by Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli and hosts permanent and temporary contemporary art exhibitions, as well as a cinema, bookshop, library, restaurant and bar.

It is characterized by an articulated architectural configuration that combines pre-existing buildings with three new constructions: the Podium, the Cinema and the Tower.

You’ll be bound to take a fun photo with the famous upside-down mushrooms at the famous Upside Down Mushroom Room installation, as is the distinctive gold-colored building.

A myriad of splendid art to surprise you as it mixes different genres with great ease and balance.
